Two Women Facing Stabbing Charges

Twice on Monday, June 23, Schenectady Police had to deal with stabbings in the city and in each case, have arrested two women.

The first stabbing occurred on at 1061 Avenue B when detectives arrested Aaliyah Mayotte, 37, and charged her with one count of Assault (2nd Degree, Class D felony), police said. Mayotte (upper left) is an ex-girlfriend of the victim and was held overnight in the city lockup, police said.

 

The second stabbing happened at 1018 Stanley St. Detectives arrested Alishama Johnson, 32, and charged her with one count of Burglary (1st Degree, Class B felony), one count of Assault (2nd Degree, Class D felony) and two counts of Endangering Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor), police said in a statement.

Johnson (lower left) is an ex-girlfriend of the victim who broke into the apartment and stabbed the victim, police said. Their children were present during the attack, police said.

Both Mayotte and Johnson were held overnight in the city lockup and arraigned Tuesday morning in city court.
