State to pick up bill for damage to athletic fields in Guilderland

Just send us the bill.

That  from the state's Civil Service Commissioner, Jerry Boone following a meeting with Guilderland school superintendent Marie Wiles.

Wiles says Boone has agreed to take responsibility for an incident this past weekend in which an unexpectedly large crowd of test takers at Farnsworth Middle School parked their cars on 4 acres of adjacent athletic fields, turning them into a muddy quagmire.   Wiles says repair work will start as soon as possible.

Wiles says accommodations are being made for the school's modified lacrosse and soccer teams as repairs will take months.
