More snow blankets the Capital Region

Another winter storm has hit the Capital Region with the heaviest snow in the area fell to the north.  A mix of rain, snow and ice kept snow totals in the immediate Capital District from being as high.

Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Amsterdam were under snow emergencies early Thursday. Hundreds of power outages were also reported in Greene and Columbia counties, due to falling tree limbs from ice.

It was an outright blizzard in western New York forcing the closure of the Thruway for a time. It has been reopened.
