Japanese solar firm considering CNSE for headquarters

A Japanese firm is looking into a $700 million research, development, and manufacturing initiative in New York state through an agreement with the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering. 

Solar Frontier is described as one of the leading photovoltaic solar companies in the world, and the largest provider of affordable solar energy solutions for commercial and residential use.  

The company has signed an agreement with CSNE to explore the construction of a solar module manufacturing plant in western New York, and establishing the company's North American headquarters in Albany. 

Projections call for the creation of more than 1,000 jobs.
