Trio Busted by Snowmobile Crimefighting Duo

On Saturday night, along the Southern Warren trails, Officers Greg Dunn and Ben Geisler of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Snowmobile Unit were in “cold” pursuit. They noticed three sledders riding on the Prospect Mountain Highway portion of the trail around 8:10 p.m.

The first snowmobiler refused to stop but instead accelerated, forcing Dunn to jump out of the way to avoid being hit, authorities said. The second snowmobiler also kept going. Both fled up the trail but the Officers were able to get the third snowmobiler stopped, they said.

Dunn then found one of the snowmobilers nearby and arrested 38-year old Ronnie Hendrick of Queensbury, operating a 2002 Ski Doo. He was ticketed for failure to stop at a road crossing. The rider of the other snowmobile that nearly hit Dunn was later arrested – 48-year old William Morehouse of Queensbury. The snowmobile he was operating, a 2004 Arctic Cat, was impounded. Morehouse is charged with Reckless Endangerment, failure to stop at a road crossing, failure to comply with the direction of a Police Officer and Reckless Operation of a snowmobile.

They were all due in Lake George Court.
