Man Arrested for Lewd Act at Museum

An Albany man is facing charges after people at the NYS Museum complained about the man's lewd activities. Steven Dressel, 56, was arrested for public lewdness, a misdemeanor, for masturbating near the Fulton Fish Market Exhibit.

The New York State Police at the Capital in Albany investigated a complaint. He was arraigned at the Town Of Guilderland court Thursday night. The judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation.

Dressel's arrest comes eight months after another sexually-related arrest. In June 2013, Edward Tubbs, 22, was arrested for sexually abusing a six-year-old boy in the restroom. Tubbs was later sentenced to four years in prison as part of a plea deal.

At that time, the museum said it would install more security cameras.
