Local Threat vs. TSA Agents

A Watervliet man is facing harassment charges after he threatened his estranged wife and her boyfriend, who both work the Transportation Security Administration, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

Shane Murray, 25, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of Harassment (2nd Degree) after authorities say he sent text messages early Sunday morning. The ex-girlfriend and new boyfriend reported the threats when they got to work, investigators said.

Murray was ordered by a Town of Colonie Judge to stay away from the alleged victims after being arraigned. Authorities say he also had to surrender his legally registered gun. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office Airport Unit is working with the TSA.

Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office and TSA have increased security measurements recently in relation to the events at Los Angeles International Airport.
