5 to 15 years in state prison. That's the sentence for Dennis Drue after pleading guilty for causing the Northway crash that killed two and injured two last December.
During the sentencing hearing Thursday victim impact statements were directed at Drue, the man who admits he drank and did drugs before causing the crash.
All four victims were represented in the statements, explaining to Drue how much he took from them and the everlasting pain they are enduring. Bailey Wind, one of the teens injured in the accident, expressed her hatred of Drue particularly in light of his previous driving offenses.
One victim's mother, Regina Stewart told Drue she doesn't hate him but she is truly sad. She said she is working on forgiveness.
When Drue got a chance to speak, he apologized.
