Bold Kidnapping Attempt Ends with Prison Time

A bold kidnapping attempt ends with an Albany man headed to state prison.

Anthony Collins admitted in court Monday that on the morning of October 4, 2013 he tried to kidnap a SUNY student from the area of Western Avenue and O’Leary Boulevard.  The 54 year old placed a knife to her back and tried to get her to walk into his apartment.  Some other students came to her aid.

For his guilty plea to Attempted Kidnapping Collins will spend up to 12 years in prison.

The D.A.’s office says Collins will be held in custody until his sentencing.
