Authorities say a Fort Edward man fired a gun at a group of teens around a bonfire in the mistaken belief that he had been beaten at their party.
Police in Fort Edward in Washington County say 19-year-old Daimon Diresta got into a scuffle at a bonfire party last weekend and later went back with a gun.
But police say he went to another party being held nearby early Sunday morning and fired a rifle at a group of teens at a bonfire. No one was hit.
Police tracked him to his Fort Edward home, where he eventually surrendered after an eight-hour standoff.
Diresta was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence and reckless endangerment.
