Three burglaries have happened overnight in Schenectady, from Wednesday night to Thursday morning, police said. All three happened between the Stockade area and Wendell Ave. on the north side of the city and all three homes were occupied at the time, police said.
Each time, they burglars got in by removing a screen and entering through that window, according to detectives. Officers and Detectives are currently canvassing the neighborhoods and reviewing neighborhood surveillance cameras.
The Schenectady P.D. is reminding people to keep their doors and windows locked whenever possible but a screen provides little security and can easily be removed but a locked window or door provides an added deterrent to anyone trying to gain access to a building, police said in a statement.
Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department’s TIPS line at 518-788-6566.
