A falloff in support for Eliot Spitzer to become New York City Comptroller

Eliot Spitzer

Eliot Spitzer's once commanding lead in the NYC Comptroller's race is gone.  According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, the race between Spitzer and Scott Stringer in the Democratic primary is now tied 46-46 percent.  This comes after Spitzer held a 19-point cushion just two weeks ago.

Pollster Mickey Carroll says he's never seen anything so dramatic.

The primary is September 10.
